NC Code Translator BETA

Paste G-code and get a line-by-line explanation of common G and M codes, with parameters and safety notes.

Scaffold. Meanings shown are generic. FANUC, Mitsubishi and Haas can differ by model and version, so every command is marked Unverified until it has been checked against that controller's manual and given a source.

  1. G90
    • G90 — Absolute positioningUnverified
  2. G54
    • G54 — Select work coordinate system 1Unverified
  3. G00 X0 Y0
    • G00 — Rapid positioningUnverifiedParameters: X Y Z⚠ Rapid moves ignore feed rate; check for collisions along the whole path.
    • X0 — X position = 0
    • Y0 — Y position = 0
  4. G43 H01 Z100.
    • G43 — Tool length compensation, positive directionUnverifiedParameters: H Z⚠ Check the H offset matches the loaded tool.
    • H01 — Length offset number = 01
    • Z100. — Z position = 100.
  5. M03 S5000
    • M03 — Spindle on, clockwiseUnverifiedParameters: S
    • S5000 — Spindle speed = 5000

Educational aid only — not a substitute for controller simulation, dry run and safety checks.

How it works

Each line is split into words. G and M words are looked up in a list; address words such as X, Z, F and S are read as values. Anything not recognised is flagged rather than guessed.

Limitations

The list is short, does not simulate motion, and does not understand macros, canned-cycle parameters or controller-specific options.
